jelly

no real challenge, once reaching level 15 i just started dropping pieces left and right without even bothering to rotate and ended up with 383800 points before messing up and losing

I agree with what Kibate said. The pieces should not be sticky. Let the idea go wild, I want to drop a piece at full speed and bounce everything around!

I would recommend you check out Not Tetris 2, which is a version of Tetris with rigidbody physics. It handles line clears by cutting the pieces like you mentioned in your video. I expected a softbody version of Not Tetris 2, but the stickiness of the pieces doesn't help.

This (along with Humanity) turns off my computer. I'm having weird issues with both of these games and I don't know why. It's extremely frustrating because I can't enjoy either of these games. After i drop 2 pieces my keyboard, mouse, and monitor turn off (but my computer remains on, i can see the rgb lights in the computer still on) and don't work until I restart my computer. Extremely weird and I don't know how to solve it or even what's causing the issue.

this is a good recreation of the softbody tetris videos is really fun!

Vvv fun, it felt surprisingly natural after a few plays, and it's interesting how it is actually more difficult to correctly place blocks when the board is empty than when it's full and already janky.

Can you please release it for linux?

I saw your video about this and was really interested, however already in the video i noticed some game design decisions that i feared would make this not a proper soft-body tetris as intended, and my fears were unfortunately correct. The blocks sticked way too fast once they hit something, making this more of a "glue-body Tetris", making the whole point of it being soft body pointless.(my suggestion, they should only start to stick once they stopped moving for 1-2 seconds, regardless of how much they may fall down) Plus it is too easy to make lines, i think the percentage should be higher.

The actual soft-bodies in the early version of the game looked amazing, exactly what i was hoping for when i found out someone made an actual soft-body tetris.

There was also some other minor issues, like the rotation speed not fast enough, or that you can't move a block anymore once they barely touch another block, or that the next block comes too fast down(there should be a rough 1 second waiting period) all decisions that could be changed(if desired) in a few seconds of coding.

And like you said in the video, once too many blocks are on screen it started to lag on my weak laptop, but that's expected considering the method you used to make the softbodies.

The actual execution is awesome! Plus the aesthetic designs are great as well. Just some gameplay decisions don't really fly with me ;)

for macOS it does not work until you run this command in the terminal "chmod -R +x ./Softbody Tetris.app"

(delete "./softbody tetris.app" and drag the actual app into the terminal window)

otherwise the game is really fun!

Linux :(

Use wine, my linux mint works fine with it

yes. proton is a bit slow. it doesnt seem to like my core2duo. would love a native version that would maybe run smoother or just eat less ram.

Since it was made in unity, making linux support should be easy, please add D:

This is so fun! I saw your video posted over on Reddit, watched the video, gave the game a download, and I love it! I love Tetris, and I've seen C4D4U's videos here and there, always wanted to play them, but I never knew it'd be this fun! Thank you for making this!

(ps; my current high score is 3200)
